Getting Your Floors Ready for a Move-Out Clean

November 2026 · 2 min read

Moving is stressful enough, so we try to make the flooring part simple. Whether you're handing back keys or getting a new place ready, a little preparation helps us do the best job on your carpet, tile, and grout.

Before we arrive

  • Empty the rooms. Floors are easiest and most thorough to clean when furniture and boxes are out of the way. If a few large pieces are still there, let us know ahead of time.
  • Point out problem spots. Pet accidents, old stains, high-traffic paths, and anything you've already tried to clean. The more we know, the better we can plan.
  • Make sure we can get in. We'll need access to the home and a place to park near the entrance, since our equipment runs from the truck.
  • Tell us about the tile and grout. If the kitchen, bathrooms, or entryway have grout that's dark or stained, we can clean it with an agitation and extraction method.

Plan around drying time

Some carpet jobs dry in 4–6 hours, but we recommend allowing 6–8 hours to be safe. If you have a final walkthrough, a closing, or new furniture arriving, schedule the flooring clean early enough that the carpet can dry first, and try to keep foot traffic off it until then.

What you don't need to do

You don't need to supply water. We bring our own clean, soft water in the truck, and we take the dirty water with us when we leave. You don't need to rent a machine or pre-treat the carpet yourself either. Just call us and we'll handle it.
